About

SoftDevStudio.com is a small, independent software studio. We build databases, job queues, proxies and network tools, mostly in Go, and the code of our own projects is on GitHub under Apache 2.0.

Small Software, on Purpose

Most of our projects follow the SQLite pattern. One small core does one job and ships as a single file or binary, with no fleet of services around it. That keeps it cheap to run and easy to hand over, which matters when the code is going to be yours.

Working Code First

You’ll see working code early. Each project has tests for its operations, and the ones that keep data also get failure tests aimed at their main promise, like workers killed halfway through a job or many processes writing to one file at once. CI runs on every push to main, and a release only goes out when every build passes.

Open Source by Default

Our own projects are public, from AltSql and HyperCrux to BareProxy and VPN Works. They’re where we try ideas out, and they’re the easiest way to see how we write code before you hire us. The full list is on the Work page.

Who You Work With

A small team of engineers who build databases and network software. You talk to the people who write the code, and your project stays with them from the first call to the hand-over.
